A Question About A Kung Fu Lifestyle

Hello, Tony here and today I would like to share with you a question that I received at a website I participate at called AllExperts.Com

Question: I have heard that learning kung-fu can help in one's daily routine life, How? Answer: Hello Danish and thank you for the question.

Answer:
Hello Danish and thank you for the question.

The answer to your question is yes! Kung Fu is very much a way of life for those who practice it. A life based on a Kung Fu way consists of the relationship between mind, body and spirit as does any way of life that is based on reaching our full human potential. I will briefly outline this for you below.

The aspect of Mind consists of the practice of the refinement of applications and techniques through patience, repetition, and duration of focus. The goal here is to continue to improve and refine through knowledge and experience. So an example in Kung Fu would be the improvement and refinement of the fighting techniques through the practical application of the principles learned.

The aspect of Body consists of the movements that create strength, balance, power and timing that are learned through things such as the stretching, hand and weapon forms, as well as fighting techniques. At each level they teach us to be in touch with our bodies through both healing (stretching and forms) and the polar opposite of that which is destruction (fighting techniques). Some aspects of Kung Fu also include healing herbs and diet and can be put in this category.

The aspect of Spirit consists of the realization that all life is sacred in that no life form is more important than any other on this planet. In Kung Fu we learn to defend with the intention of never having to defend. In other words, the more we learn to fight the more confident we become which creates the need not to have to defend to begin with. When we walk in confidence we can easily walk away because the ego is not involved in the conflict. When we walk in fear the ego is central in that we always need to defend or justify our position in regards to some one elses position.

So, explained this way I hope you can see that in living a Kung Fu lifestyle we can embody the true meaning of life which I believe is to walk in balance with all life and seek oneness with the universe.

I hope this answers your question and good luck with your training!
